The vision for a top tier Canadian bank’s recruitment team is to proactively support hiring managers with consultative, value added guidance to deliver top talent. Senior management expects the recruiters to provide a talent-focused approach to sourcing quality candidates as opposed to a tactical function of filling a generic job post.

Feedback on the current state process from hiring managers, and preliminary management investigation indicated that the value provided by the process had significant variability and inefficiencies, the recruitment team simply executes against hiring managers’ orders, and there is a lack of consistent quality of candidates presented to the hiring managers. In addition, the candidate experience, both internal and external, is not ideal with many gaps and issues in the process from the time the candidate is first engaged to a point when a decision is reached.
